Helicoverpa armigera aka Corn Earworm 

A Relative common species in Portugal. The caterpillar is found mostly all year. I've been searching to find these, which is kinda easy but I found dificulties on finding. On a day for a walk I found one in the fruit of a (See first 2 pictures, if anybody do know the name of it, please tell me in the comments, I had once saved the name of it, but I lost it) . The caterpillar is quite unique and easy to identify. I made some tests and I found out that it is carnivorous. It fed on dead moths, almost every living plant ( I tried Rumex sp. ; Plantago sp. ; Pyrus sp. ; Arbutus unedo; some Ericaceae; etc). Also I tried on fried corn (after pop-corn) and the caterpillar also fed on it, as well on eggs layed by S. cilium .moth species.
Later it burried itself and later it hatched this beautiful moth which in many countries is considered a pest.

Uma espécie relativamente comum em Portugal. A lagarta é encontrada quase todo o ano. Eu andei à procura desta, o que é por vezes relativamente fácil de encontrar, mas a busca sempre foi em vão. Um dia, numa das minhas ocasionais caminhadas encontrei esta no fruto de (Ver Imagem, se alguém souber o nome da espécie agradeço, antes tinha guardado o nome mas perdi-o) . A lagarta apresenta padrões que é fácil assim de identificar. Eu decidi fazer alguns testes nesta, uma vez que é uma lagarta carnívora. Ela alimentou-se de algumas borboletas nocturnas mortas, quase todas as plantas que coloquei (tentei em Rumex sp. ; Plantago sp. ; Pyrus sp. ; Arbutus unedo;  e algumas Ericaceae, etc). Também tentei em milho frito (depois de fazer pipoca) e a lagarta alimentou-se na mesma do pedaço de milho bastante rijo, assim como ovos colocados por S. cilium .
Mais tarde enterrou-se como é normal na maioria dos noctuídeos, e mais tarde deu esta bela borboleta considerada uma praga em muitos países.
