Euphydryas aurina aka Marsh Fritillary

As usual every year I find caterpillars of this specie.. it is very common around here. I had a whole nest of them, but unfortunately  there are a lot of parasites that attack these butterflies, so I could only save one of a whole nest. the luck is that, there are really many among the forests.

Como todos os anos encontro destas lagartas. são muito comuns aqui. Tive um ninho delas em casa, mas infelizmente são muitos os parasitas que as infectaram antes de as acolher, por isso do ninho todo, só 1 consegui salvar. A sorte é que existem realmente muitas lagartas desta espécie nas florestas.
