Peridroma saucia aka Pearly Underwing is an interesting Moth.. The caterpillar fed on Rumex and it pupate under land. 

Peridroma saucia é uma borboleta nocturna interessante. A lagarta alimentou-se de Rumex e fez pupa debaixo de terra.

 Brithys crini aka The Lily Borer is a Small although gets far, showy caterpillar of one discreter moth that lives in the beach all the time. 
It feeds Lily Borer (Pancratium maritimum), that grows in dunes of Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean. 

Note: In Algarve, most exactly in Faro I've not noticed presence of this Caterpillar on the beach. I Found those in The North, Vila Chá, Vila do Conde.

Brithys crini é Pequena ,contudo gordinha, vistosa lagarta de uma mais discreta borboleta nocturna que passa toda a sua vida na praia.

Alimenta-se do narciso-das-areias (Pancratium maritimum), que cresce nas dunas do Mediterrâneo e Atlântico.

Nota: No Algarve, mais propriamente em Faro, não vi existência desta lagarta na praia, mesmo com o alimento em abundância  Estas foram encontradas a Norte, Vila Chá, Vila do Conde.

Notodonta ziczac aka  Pebble Prominent   is an interesting caterpillar. I liked the way I found it on a Betula. It fed on my willow, and it grew up pretty fast.


Notodonta ziczac é uma lagarta bastante interessante. Gostei da forma como a encontrei numa Bétula. Alimentou-se do meu Chorão e folhas de Choupo. Cresceu muito rápido.

Clepsis consimilana  found the cocoon in a Ruta Steam so Decided to pick it up to see what would be. So it was this Cute Little moth.

Clepsis consimilana encontrei a pupa num ramo de uma Ruda, então decidi pegar e ver o que iria sair dali. cabei por ver que era esta borboleta minúscula bonita.

Orgyia antiqua Aka Vapourer is an amazing caterpillar (we can't say about the moth though). It has big tails and a tuffs and it is all colorful. This is a male, because the female is flightless and always stays nearby the cocoon waiting the male. So This is Roger, seeking for his Female. Caterpillar fed on Betula.

Orgyia antiqua é uma lagarta incrível (não posso dizer o mesmo da borboleta). Tem uma cauda enorme, e tem uma espécie de pom-pons e é muito colorida (e anda muito, nunca parava quieta). Este é um macho, pois a fêmea não tem asas e não voa, fica perto da pupa à espera do macho. Então este é o Roger, que vai procurar a sua Fêmea. Lagarta alimentou-se em folhas de Betula.

Probably from Pimplinae subfamily. This Wasp was found in a top of the mountain. I saw the larvae and brought home. It was quite interesting.

Provavelmente da subfamilia Pimplinae. Esta Vespa foi encontrada no topo de uma montanha. Eu vi a larva num tojo então trouxe para casa. Foi interessante.

Buff-tip

Phalera bucephala aka Buff-tip is an amazing caterpillar and moth.. Although I didn't have the pleasure to see the moth... Today I saw and they were infected by tachina flies...
The caterpillar fed on oak and it pupates underground.


Phalera bucephala é uma lagarta e borboleta nocturna espétacular... Contudo não tive o prazer de ver a borboleta... hoje vi que foram efectadas por moscas parasitas...
As lagartas alimentaram-se de carvalho e fazem a crisálida de baixo de terra.

 Macdunnoughia confusa aka Dewick's Plusia  It is an interesting moth..a bit shy, but still interesting. Fed on Plantago.

Macdunnoughia confusa (na sua forma castanha). é uma borboleta nocturna interessante. Tímida mas interessante. Alimentou-se de Plantago.
